Vice President General
Gary O. Green of the North Carolina Society was nominated by the North Carolina Society and elected Vice President General of the South Atlantic District, presiding over the Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina State Societies for the 2026–2027 term.

Gary is a Life Member of the SAR, a George Washington Fellow, and served as National Genealogist General from 2022 to 2026. His service spans national, state, and chapter leadership, including committee chairmanships, color guard leadership, and terms as President of the North Carolina Society and of his home chapter.
A retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel with more than 4,000 flight hours, Gary flew the T-37 and B-52 and later served nineteen years as a Senior Aerospace Science Instructor with AFJROTC at Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina.
