District Leadership

Vice President General & District Officers

The South Atlantic District Vice President General serves as the district’s presiding officer, representing the district at National Society meetings, convening district sessions, and supporting the Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina State Societies.

  • Presides at all South Atlantic District meetings.
  • Represents the district at National Trustees Meetings and the NSSAR Annual Congress.
  • Attends, whenever possible, state society and chapter meetings within the district.
  • Acts as escort for the President General at district events unless other arrangements are made.
  • Submits required district reports and nominates the next Vice President General as outlined in the bylaws.

The District Secretary and Webmaster support the work of the Vice President General and state society presidents by maintaining minutes, notices, reports, and the district website.

Keeps minutes of district meetings, issues notices of meeting dates and locations, and compiles the Agenda and Reports Package for distribution to district leadership. Also maintains and regularly updates the district website with contact data, a calendar of district events, minutes and report packages, and a history of the district, forwarding website feedback to the Vice President General.
